Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera says Antonio Valencia is world’s best right back. The Spanish play maker told Manchester United TV that Antonio Valencia is the greatest right back in the world and should be rated among star fullbacks such as Danny Alves.
“I know he’s not a normal right-back because he used to play as a winger, but I think that, right now, he is the best right-back in the world, maybe with Dani Alves, because I like Dani Alves a lot. I think Antonio is one of the best right-backs in the world, ” said the Spaniard.
“When you have a right-back who is quick to defend and he is crossing maybe six or seven times a game, always or almost always successfully, then he understands the football. When I have the ball, I know that Antonio’s always ready to receive it, always to give you one solution”
“I think he’s going to be very important this season. He has already been very important for the club, he has already been here eight years, but I think I told you at the end of the last season something good is being cooked and everyone wants to be part of that.”
The Ecuadorian international has pulled great performances for the Red’s so far and he’s been great both defensively and offensively. Valencia has been humbled by Herrera’s praise but admits that he is flattered by the player’s comments.
“Well, I’m grateful for Ander’s kind words but what I try and do is to simply work hard every day in training,” Valencia said on Manchester United TV. “I want to put a shift in for United, the team that I love. I always want to give everything for this team. I’m not interested in personal glory like that, not at all! Of course it’s really nice of Ander to have said that, but what I’m all about is just working hard,” Added the Ecuadorian .
