Argentina coach Edgardo Bauza is pleased with his team performance after they beat Colombia 3-0 in the 2018 World Cup qualifier.The 2014 World Cup finalists have been subject to criticism after failing to secure a comfortable position in Russia 2018 qualifiers. The South Americans have already suffered a shocking home defeat to Paraguay and a 3-0 loss away to Brazil.This saw the 1978 and 1986 World Cup Champions descend to the 6th position in the South American standings
However, the Argentines have turned things around in this South American group of death and they are now placed 5th in the standings just one point behind Chile and Ecuador.The star- studded Argentine side claimed a much-needed three points against Colombia on Wednesday .A beautiful free-kick by Lionel Messi and two more goals from Angel Di Maria and Lucas Pratto have lifted them up in the standings.
Argentina manager Edgardo Bauza said he is against the criticism that has been aimed at his side, he feels that the players have given a lot for their national team and shouldn’t be criticized.The coach also showed his gratitude by mentioning that he is happy for the players and pleased by the team’s quality performance .
Bauza also mentioned that the game was not easy , insisting that they solved the match methodically against the very offensive Colombia side.He also hailed his defense for keeping the clean sheet which resulted in the team’s convincing 3-0 win.Argentina will face Chile at home and Bolivia away in four months time as they seek to climb up the South America standings.
Coach Edgardo Bauza says he will travel to Europe to monitor the progress of his players , the veteran coach wants to include more players in the squad .Bauza says he will likely call-up some of the players he has been watching in the last couple months .
