AFC Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe is hoping to help his club to register a second win of the season as they face West Brom this weekend . The English born forward said on the club’s website that he hopes the club can secure a home win this Saturday. This is what Benik Afobe said in an interview :
“We’re looking forward to the game for sure and it’ll be nice to get the three points here in front of our home fans,” the striker said.
“They’re obviously a good team and the manager there has got a good way of playing for them.
“We were disappointed to concede in the last couple of minutes against Crystal Palace and the West Ham game as well, but with ten men we held on so well.
“It just shows there’s a thin line in football and we’re not too far away. Just a few different changes and a few different things and hopefully we can start picking points up again.
“We want to give our fans a great show every week. They’re fantastic and we want to give them much more than we have in the past and hopefully this is the season where they can enjoy more here at the stadium.”
The former Arsenal man also spoke of his personal targets for the season ahead and is keen to take his chance when it comes his way.
“I’ve had a good pre-season. I went away and worked hard,” Benik Afobe continued.
“I’ve been on the bench for the first three games at the moment but it’s a long season. The manager spoke to me and I believe in everything he says and I believe in everything he does with the club.
“I’ve always been a team player in the sense of working hard for the club, for the squad and for all the boys and when I do get my chance, I’ll be looking forward to taking it.”
