Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is adamant that his side will bounce back after suffering a shock defeat to Liverpool on Friday. The Blues are now seeking to recover from Friday’s loss as they get ready to face Premier League Champions Leicester City in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.
The Italian born coach told Chelsea TV that he is happy with what he has seen in training so far as Chelsea seek to make amends to the 2-1 loss they suffered against Liverpool.The Blues are also set to face another tough encounter, they will travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Saturday .
The coach spoke on how Chelsea has progressed following the defeat by the Reds and how he has been motivating his player’s. Conte also spoke on the club’s captain John Terry recovery and whether the skipper will return to the first team soon .
‘We are disappointed about the defeat against Liverpool because we gave away two goals and it was our first defeat of the season, but during training I’ve seen the right intensity and the right commitment from the players,’ the manager said.
‘And now tomorrow we have a very tough game against Leicester. We are ready.’
‘The same message that I gave after the game, that when you concede two goals in this way – after a free-kick and throw-in – we must pay attention in every moment of the game.
‘You must pay attention to details because details change results. In this case it happened because when you are losing 2-0 it’s very difficult to win or draw. The reaction was good, we scored a goal and we could have scored another but it was late.’
‘John is recovering. I saw him outside today and he is recovering. After this game we’ll see”
Chelsea will clash with Leicester tonight and the match will start at 8:45 PM at King Power Stadium .
