Defender thinks Ancelotti should stay at Madrid

Portuguese and  Real Madrid center back Pepe has defended his manager Carlo Ancelotti after the Spanish giants has had a few unconvincing performances in the last couple of games.Real Madrid have not done well in the Spanish La Liga lately hence has gone done down to second on the table whilst also loosing a Champions League match to FC Schalke on Tuesday.Even though Real progressed to the last 8 of the Uefa Champions league it showed that everyone was not happy with the overall performance.This has raised questions about the future of the last year’s Uefa Champions coach as his managerial performances have been faulty lately.

Pepe has however defended the 55 year old coach citing that the manager has brought a lot of happiness in the team since he came in as head coach in the summer of 2013 as a replacement for Jose Mourinho who had left the club.The Portuguese defender also cited that coach Ancelotti has been a good manager and has helped the team do better in the last season also mentioning that the coach has assisted them to win the Uefa Champions League and the domestic Copa del Rey in his first season at Madrid.

Real madrid has reached a 22 match unbeaten run under Ancelotti this season but lost to Valencia in January eventually ending the winning spell.The team has not registered a win in three matches aand will be hoping to change all that when they face Levante on Sunday in the La Liga domestic league match.The club is one point behind Barcelona who overtook them after disappointing in a few matches and went to lead the log standings.The Real Madrid is still confident that his side will get back to their winning momentum even though the results have not been coming their way lately.

Real Madrid will face Barcelona in less then 2 weeks time and the El Clasico match will be very crucial for both sides as they will be looking to top the log standings.The club is determined to go further to win the La Liga tittle and concentration will be crucial in these last couple of matches.Real Madrid managed to go through to the next round of Uefa Champions League after winning 5-4 on aggregate against FC Schalke on Tuesday.The club will be hoping that their last poor performances influence the the management decision to let go of the coach Carlo Ancelotti who has done very well since he arrived at the club in 2013.

Real Madrid won the Uefa Champions League last year and it would be a great achievement for them if they defended the tittle and also went on to win the La Liga domestic tittle.Star players like Ronaldo and Gareth Bale will be of utmost important in the last couple of games.Both players are very influential in the Madrid setup and they will have to stay injury free in these last couple of games in order to help take the team to victory in the La Liga and Uefa Champions League.

Paris Saint Germain, FC Porto, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are the three teams that have made it to the quarter finals whilst Monaco , Arsenal, Manchester  City, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Atletico Madrid,Bayer Leverkusen and Barcelona are yet to play next week.The teams that qualify for the last eight next week will part of the quarter finals draw that is scheduled for the 20th of March.With the four teams having already qualified they will be more pressure on the remaining teams to fight for the remaining spot.

Smaller teams such as FC Porto will be hoping that they face less tougher opponents in the last 8 but this will be unlikely as most teams that have qualified already are very tough themselves.The quarter finals will be definitely entertaining but the first stop will be the remaining four games of the last sixteen which will commence next week Tuesday and Wednesday.Big teams such as Bayern Munich and Barcelona will be looking to fight for the Champions League tittle as they have not won the cup in a while.One can’t overlook French giants PSG and Monaco who have also done well so far in the competition,Manchester City will be hoping to progress to the next round when they face Barcelona in a weeks time.
