Bayern Munich and German international defender Jerome Boateng is set to make return in the Bundesliga.The newly -crowned Germany Footballer of the year suffered a muscle tear injury in the Uefa Euro Champions league semi-finals that they lost 2-0 to France. Boateng started training last week but was unable to play in the Supercup match against Borussia Dortmund due to lack of fitness.
Bayern beat Dortmund 2-0 at home in a Supercup match that saw the Bundesliga Champions win the first tittle of the season.Most players have only just recently returned to training.This is because of the Uefa Euro Championships that took place in France.
The defender missed most of the second half of last season due to the same ailment injury but he is now looking to bounce back.Even though Boateng has recovered he still admits that it’s too early to feature on a league match. Bayern are playing Werder Bremen on the 26th of August and the central defender says he hopes he will be fully fit for the club’s first match.
Bayern Munich , the 2015/16 Bundesliga champions will be looking to defend the tittle this season. The club has signed some players to beef up their squad including Portuguese star Renato Sanches . Sanches however has been sidelined for three weeks due to injury and will not feature in the first few league matches.
Carlo Ancelotti, the new Bayern manager has been tasked with a responsiblity to defend the league and do well in the Uefa Champions League. Ancelloti takes over from Pep Guardiola who has moved on to Manchester City . Guardiola won a few tittles but was unable to clinch the Champions League during his stay at Bayern Munich.The veteran coach has a big mountain to climb as he seeks to win a few tittles for the German big spenders.
