Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Marco Reus is set to make a return to the BVB outfit. The former German international has finally made his comeback after being out of the game for an estimated six months because of injury.It was previously reported that the Reus will feature in the rival clash against Bayern Munich on Saturday. However, the skillful attacker did not feature because of a “delay” in his recovery.
Reus did not feature on Saturday because he sustained a minor injury on the heel during Wednesday’s preparation for the Bayern clash .The former German team midfielder has a long history with injuries. He missed the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil with an ankle injury. Marco Reus also missed out of the Euro 2016 Championships due to a groin injury.
The player has now recovered and will likely be part of the Borussia Dortmund squad that will face Legia Warsaw in the Uefa Champions League clash at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night.According to the club’s website Marco Reus mentioned after the Bayern Munich game that he hopes to get involved in Tuesday’s clash against Legia.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal of the match that saw Dortmund move up to the third spot in the standings.The German based club is also on the top spot in Group F of the Uefa Champions League. Dortmund leads with a comfortable ten points , Real Madrid is second with eight points.Portugal based Sporting CP have only collected three points while Legia Warsaw has on point.
Marco Reus says his side needs to stay focus and continue with consistency . The player hopes the players will put up some strong performances before the winter break and stay at the top of the table.He hopes his side can get as many points as possible going into the Christmas break.
