Mathieu Debuchy suffers a serious injury

Mathieu Debuchy is said to be very upset and humiliated  after it was affirmed that the defender would persist through an alternate extensive spell on the sidelines.Injuries throughout the season has resulted to Debuchy having only begun just nine Premier League games since joining the Gunners from Newcastle United in the mid year.These injuries are surely to cost the team as Debuchy is not the only player suffering from an injury in the Arsenal squad, Theo Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain are also just came back from injuries and it is going to be crucial for them to stay fit for the remaining season.

The France full-back was out for three months prior in the season in the wake of experiencing lower leg ligament surgery in September and he will now miss most of whatever remains of the crusade with an issue to his privilege shoulder. Head coach Arsene Wenger also expressed his views and declared that he is also saddened by the star players untimely injury.Arsenal will need their quality players when they play Monaco in the Uefa Champions league,the Gunners will play their first leg at home and then move to France for the second leg.

Debuchy was taken out away on a stretcher during  Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Stoke last Sunday after he was pushed off the touch line roughly by Marko Arnautovic. Wenger also cited that the foul committed by the stoke player was not necessary to begin with.He believes Marko Arnautovic foul was uncalled for and such kind of play should be condemned.The player’s recovery will be very crucial as the gunners are are competing for top spot position in the English Premier League,the club is seeking to ensure that they secure their spot in the next Uefa Champions League.

Arsenal are looking to do better in this season of the Champions League having not done well since they were beaten by Barcelona in the final.That was their last successful spell in the European competition,the club has a number of  quality players who are capable of competing in this competition and taking the team all the way to the finals.The team will also be focusing on the remaining games of the domestic league to make sure they finish off the season in a good standing.

Debuchy’s career profile

Before joining  Lille at the age of eight Debuchy started his career playing for his hometown club Union Sportive Fretin. In 2003-2004 season after playing for ten years at Lille he was promoted to the senior soccer team.He played his professional fist game in the beginning of January 2004 where they played Metz, a game that they won 1-0. After playing reasonably well on that match he gained more game time in the Lille team,he would start the game or come in as a substitute.

The following season saw Debuchy gaining even more game time as he appeared in in 19 matches and scored three goals.He scored his first professional goal against Bordeaux, ironically the goal was scored in the first minute of the match.He helped the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League as they finished that season 2nd on the log table after  solid consistency throughout the season.Debuchy was also influential in the teams qualification of the UEFA Cup Round of 16 wher the club was eventually eliminated by League 1  rivals Auxerre.

Debuchy became an instrumental player in the upcoming 2005-2006 season and as a result Lille extended his contract until 2010.He suffered a knee injury that same season and ended up missing the 2006 UEFA European Under 21 Football Championship. The right back was also instrumental in Lille’s victory of  the 2011 League 1 tittle  and the club went on to win to win the Coupe de France Cup where they beat PSG 1-0.

Debuchy has also played for the national team,he started on the under 21 French national team but was eventually called up for the senior team in august 2010.He however did not get the game time until November 2011 scoring his first goal against Iceland in 2012.The fullback was selected by coach Laurent Blanc to participate in the European Championships hosted Poland/Ukraine in 2012 where they drew their first match 1-1 against England. Debuchy played well on the match and was hailed as an outstanding and terrific player. He played  for the whole  full ninety minutes in all the matches until they were eliminated by Spain in the quarter finals.
