Ronaldo is a professional footballer from Portugal who plays for Real Madrid in Spain and the Portuguese national team that he captains .Christiano Ronaldo has been playing for the Portugal national team since he the under 16 level.By the age of 22, Ronaldo had received Ballon d’Or and Fifa World player of the Year nominations.  He followed this up by winning the Ballon d’Or in 2014. He also won the 2013–14 Uefa Best Player Award. In January 2014, Ronaldo scored his 400th senior career goal for club and country aged 28.After being nominated he managed to win World Player of the year and European Player of the year awards.

Ronaldo started his junior career back in 2001 where he was part of the youth under 15 squad for Portugal.Ronaldo has also represented the under 17, under 21 and also under 23 squads for portugal scoring more that 18 goals.He won his first cap for the senior team back in 2003 against Kazakhstan where they won 1-0.Ronaldo made his international debut for Portugal in August 2003, at the age of 18. He has since been capped over a hundred times and has participated in 6 major tournaments: three UEFA Championships and three FIFA World Cups. Ronaldo is the first Portuguese player to reach fifty international goals making him Portugal’s Top Goal scorer  of all time as well as the country’s top scorer in the European Championship with 6 goals.

He scored his first international goal in the opening game of Euro 2004 against Greece and helped Portugal reach the final. He took over captaincy in July 2008, and he led Portugal to the semi-finals at Euro 2012, finishing the competition as joint-top scorer in the process. In November 2014, Ronaldo became the all-time top scorer in the UEFA European Championship (including qualifying) with 23 goals .Ronaldo was selected for Euro 2004, scoring his first international goal in a 2–1 group stage loss to eventual champions Greece and scoring again in a 2–1 semi-final win over the Netherlands. He was featured in the UEFA Euro All-Star Team of this competition, providing two assists, despite finishing with only two goals.

Ronaldo also represented Portugal at the 2004 Summer Olympics, scoring a goal in the tournament, although the Portuguese Olympic football squad was eliminated in the first round, finishing bottom of their group with three points . Ronaldo was voted By Sports Pro as the most marketable athlete in the world in 2012 however that spot has since been taken by Neymar Juniour who is now toping the list. Ronaldo has also been named in the list of the most influential people in the world and he has a stature of him in his hometown which is a symbol of respect for the influence he has been for Portugal.

Ronaldo, along with other vital players in the Madrid team such as Modric and Bale helped the club clinch the Uefa Champions League tittle last season.They beat fellow rivals Atletico Madrid in the final last season and clinched the biggest European competition tittle. Real Madrid is ranked as one of the biggest and wealthiest clubs in the world having spent a lot of money purchasing players in the last couple of seasons.Quality players like David Beckham, Zinedane Zidane and Ronaldo of Brazili have all braced the Madrid shores in the past few years. Real Madrid are still investing on big players, they brought in Gareth Bale for a record amount.The club also brought in James Rodriguez to beef  up the squad.It is no surprise that the club is leading in the in the domestic league as they have invested a lot in players.

He is known for his pace and skill with the ability to take on defenders, his strength is the power he posses behind the ball when he take shots at goal. Ronaldo can shoot with both feet and his probably one of the best strikers that Europe has ever seen,even though he is criticized for being selfish he still manages to score most of the goals and win games for the team. Ronaldo is ranked as one of the most famous and expensive players in the world.He has done well for himself and has established  his career to the top in these last couple of years.He is the most influential player at Real Madrid and has broken also broken records as the top goal scorer in the La Liga after Lionel Messi.
