Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal played a big role on Wednesday night to ensure that his national side boosts their chances of qualifying for the Russia 2018 World Cup.The Copa America title holders beat Peru 2-1 as they were looking to climb up the qualifier table and improve their chances of making it to Russia 2018 . The Chilean attacker scored both goals for the South American side to help his team to secure a fourth win in 10 international matches
Chile is currently at the bottom of the South American World Cup qualifiers log standings having registered only 14 points in ten matches. Brazil, who have won the FIFA World Cup a record five times are leading the group as they have managed to secure 21 points in all matches played.
Uruguay is second with a comfortable 20 points , with the likes of Luiz Suarez having helped the South American giants register a few crucial wins . Ecuador and Colombia are placed in third and fourth position respectively whilst Argentina is at the fifth position with 16 points.
Only the top four teams will qualify , a club that finishes 5th on the log will fight for a World Cup spot in a play-off against a national team from another continent federation.
